4. Orlando Magic
Dante Exum, PG, Australia
There isn’t a player that is climbing higher in the draft faster than Dante Exum. In a rebuilding mode, the Magic need to take the best player available.
Exum fits that bill and gives Orlando major flexibility at guard. Last year, they played Victor Oladipo at the point. Now, he can shift off the ball with Exum leading the charge.r
The Australian product also has the ability to play off the ball and at 6’6″ brings a lot of flexibility lineup wise to the table. He will turn 19 in July, making him one of the youngest players in the draft. He is also one of the best all-around players available.
Most teams have him as their first point guard on their big board because he can score, distribute, and defend.
Length at the point guard position has become the latest trend, and his 6’9″ wingspan is nearly unmatched at the position. It also gives him an advantage when going to the rack.
He also has great finishing moves to the basket.
It might take some time for him to fully develop into the player scouts predict him to be, but he is a can’t miss prospect for the Magic and gives them a chance to draft a forward with their 12th pick.
