Jodie Meeks quick scouting report

Jodie Meeks is a one-dimensional spot-up shooter who shot 40 percent from three last season.

He is not a threat to drive or handle the ball beyond a couple dribbles to gather himself to shoot. As the potential shooting guard, Meeks can’t run the offense or even bring the ball up the floor, which limits fastbreak opportunities and versatility on offense that we’ve grown accustomed to from contenders in the playoffs and even early departures like Toronto (DeRozan, Vasquez, Lowry), Washington (Wall, Beal) and Dallas (Ellis, Harris).

Maybe versatility isn’t as much of a priority as I’m making it out to be. Maybe the ball just needs to go in from long range. In that case, Meeks can deliver.
