Greg Monroe: ‘I broke the law, and I’ve grown from it’

Greg Monroe on pleading guilty to impaired drunk, via Vincent Goodwill of The Detroit News:

"“I broke the law and I’ve grown from it,” Monroe said. “I know it. I did everything I was asked to do legally. At this point, the main thing that’s messed with me mentally is my teammates have to play two games without me.”"

Monroe continues to own up to the mistake he made, and that’s the best thing he can do right now.

Going forward, it’s important Monroe doesn’t drive drunk again. That’s the only way he can truly prove he’s learned from this.

For now, though, Monroe is handling as best as it can be handed, and he deserves a certain level of commendation for that.
