Devin Kharpertian of The Brooklyn Game:

"After missing the team’s Friday practice, Brook Lopez will not play Saturday night against the Detroit Pistons as he continues to rest his right midfoot sprain."

The Pistons haven’t gotten many breaks so far this season, but this definitely works in their favor. Lopez is one of the Nets’ best players, if not the best.

Brooklyn just got smacked around by the Celtics, a team I think (thought?) the Pistons are better than. Lopez missed that game too, so the Nets miss their simplest opportunity for a quick improvement.

The odds of the Pistons getting their first win tomorrow look a little better.
