Tony Mitchell’s D-League stint was short

Pistons release:

"The Detroit Pistons announced today that the team has recalled forward Tony Mitchell from the team’s NBA Development League (D-League) affiliate, the Grand Rapids Drive, after a one-game assignment.Mitchell recorded 12 points (5-9 FG), 12 rebounds and one steal in 30 minutes vs. the Los Angeles D-Fenders (11/26)."

This is the advantage of having a D-league affiliate so close. Though the Pistons haven’t used Mitchell yet this season, they can shuttle him to and from Grand Rapids as often as they please. It’s easy to have him around the parent club in case he’s needed and still send him back to the D-League to gain experience.
