It’s been a while since the Pistons played on Christmas, but the last time went pretty well.

Detroit blew out the Spurs in 2005, a rematch of that year’s NBA Finals.

Why were the Pistons so successful that day?

Brent Barry, who then played for San Antonio, on NBA TV:

"I’m pretty sure the night before, in the hotel, that the cooks had something special for the guys on the team, because, one it took about two and a half hours for us to get our Christmas eve meal. And I won’t mention the name of the hotel. But the next day we had several players who were not feeling all that well for our, I believe it was a 12:30 tip.So we went out and played Detroit, got our butts kicked by the Pistons, scored 70 points in that game. So, not the most memorable Christmas"
