Stuart Scott, the ESPN anchor who died today at age 49, described countless Pistons highlights throughout his distinguished career.
But if one game stands out, it’s Game 2 between the Pistons and Pacers in 2004 Eastern Conference – the Guaransheed game.
If you recall, Rasheed Wallace really struggled that game. And Scott didn’t hesitate to point out that the guarantor – and fellow North Carolina Tar Heel – was struggling. Scott described a Sheed air ball as: “Uh, see, what, what had happened…”
Of course, Scott was also there to call the game’s better final moments, including Tayshaun Prince’s block.
It was one of the greatest Pistons games of all-time, one that brings up warm feelings even now. It’s only fitting that Scott be associated with it.
