Pistons extend longest All-Star starter drought since pre-Isiah Thomas

All-Star starters are determined in a popularity contest, which seemingly wouldn’t bode well for the Pistons. But Detroit has actually been fairly well-represented in the starting lineup of All-Star games.
Not lately, though.
Andre Drummond finished 15th among Eastern Conference frontcourt players in All-Star voting this year, leaving the Pistons without an All-Star for the sixth straight year. It’s their longest drought since 1972-1981.
Since then, Allen Iverson, Ben Wallace, Grant Hill, Isiah Thomas and Joe Dumars have started All-Star games for Detroit.

Fan voting began for 1975. Isiah Thomas was voted a starter in 1991 but did not play due to injury.
