170. Final. 106. 64. 78

B. 18 points, five assists, and +13 from the floor. He didn’t shoot very well tonight nor play his best game, but he at least took care of the ball with just one turnover.. PG. Pistons. D.J. AUGUSTIN

SG. Pistons. KENTAVIOUS CALDWELL-POPE. D-. Didn’t have many opportunities to score, but part of that is on Caldwell-Pope. He has to be more aggressive and assert himself from time to time. Defensively he did okay in one-on-one situations, but he left his man too many times in help defense as the Charlotte shooting guards had a field day from three.

SF. Pistons. KYLE SINGLER. F. Ditto for what’s on Caldwell-Pope’s write up, but much worse one-on-one defense.

Played almost the entire first half and didn’t disappoint, nearly recording a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds. He’d finish shooting 60% on the night with 23 points and 12 rebounds. Defensively he was solid pretty solid too.. PF. Pistons. GREG MONROE. A+

C. Pistons. ANDRE DRUMMOND. B+. Got into foul trouble early with three first half fouls, but rebound nicely in the second half. 14 points and just a rebound shy of another double-double.<p class=

JONAS JEREBKO. C. Two rebounds and an assist, but I didn’t notice him very much tonight. Somehow he was +17 in 15 minutes of action.. PF. Pistons

PF. Pistons. ANTHONY TOLLIVER. A+. If the Pistons make the playoffs it will be in part because of the sneaky good move Van Gundy made for Tolliver. He’s basically Jonas Jerebko, but a much better shooter and overall player. 16 points tonight including a nice and-one finish.

C. If Anthony’s in you know one of two things: either Drummond is in foul trouble or the Pistons are up big. Tonight it was the latter.. C. Pistons. JOEL ANTHONY

PG. Pistons. JOHN LUCAS. D+. 4 assists, three turnovers, and four fouls doesn’t sound like a very good night at all, but his defense keeps his grade high enough to avoid failing.

SPENCER DINWIDDIE. I. Garbage time for the Mayor.. PG. Pistons

SF. Pistons. LUIGI DATOME. A. Hey! Luigi! Not only did you get to play tonight, but you also made two shots. That’s worth an “A”. See you again in 30 games.

B+. Another slow start for the Pistons with just six points in the first six minutes. Fortunately, the Pistons were able to rebound in the second half of the first quarter to pull within one. The slow starts are beyond frustrating at this point. From a coaching standpoint, Van Gundy started the second quarter with a small group. He surrounded Monroe with a plethora of shooters in Jerebko, Lucas III, Meeks, and Tolliver. He also tried to insert his dynamic combo of Moose/Drummond to close the half, but Drummond couldn’t stay out of foul trouble. I liked both moves<p class=. Head Coach. Pistons. STAN VAN GUNDY
