David Pick of Eurobasket:

"NBA free-agent Jamaal Tinsley, I’m hearing, turned down 10-day offers from Minnesota, Detroit and Charlotte."

The Pistons took their time adding another point guard after Brandon Jennings’ season-ending injury. I wouldn’t be surprised if Stan Van Gundy sought out Tinsley before signing John Lucas III.

It’s unclear why Tinsley – who played for the Jazz juts last season, even though it seems he’s been retired for about five years – turned down those offers. But it might become relevant.

Lucas is on his second 10-day contract. After that, the Pistons will have to sign him for the rest of the season if they want to keep him. If they’re uncertain, they could bide time by signing a different player instead.

I think they’ll just sign Lucas, who has performed well, but it’s possible Tinsley gets another call.
