Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press on Brandon Jennings:

"Said he will be off crutches within two weeks. “I’m WAY ahead of schedule.”"

Competition will do that.

The Pistons might think otherwise, but I maintain they don’t have to re-sign Reggie Jackson to justify the trade. If he receives a huge offer sheet this summer and the Pistons don’t think he warrants matching, that’s OK. The trade should have been about getting in position to evaluate Jackson up close and being in the driver’s seat for keeping him – not committing to him at all costs no matter what.

Jennings’ health should certainly factor into how to handle Jackson’s free agency, though I believe the Pistons will likely – and likely correctly – retain Jackson. That would leave them with two starting caliber point guards, and if Jennings is healthy to begin the season, that makes the situation a little more interesting.
