211. Final. 105. 64. 95

PG. Pistons. REGGIE JACKSON. A+. Reggie Jackson broke out of his shooting slump en route to just the NBA’s second 20-point, 20-assist game since Steve Nash in 2009 with the run and gun Suns. The other 20/20 belonged to Brandon Jennings in the very last game before he got injured. Jackson assisted on 20 of his teammates’ 25 baskets while he was playing.<p class=

B. Caldwell-Pope’s 10-16 sure looks like he busted out of his shooting slump. Not so. Kentavious was 2-7 on threes, hit a 21-footer, and a 6-footer, and apart from that went 6-7 on layups and dunks. In the absence of finding his stroke though, actually getting high percentage shots is a good strategy.. SG. Pistons. KENTAVIOUS CALDWELL-POPE

C. Butler’s job is pretty much to not be a liability when he’s on the floor. He succeeded but didn’t bring anything more to the table than that.. SF. Pistons. CARON BUTLER

Tolliver was the beneficiary of the Grizzlies not going to Zach Randolph nearly as much as they should have. He never really looked competent to defend that mismatch, but got away with it in this one and may have even outplayed his all-star counterpart. Kudos.. PF. Pistons. ANTHONY TOLLIVER. B+

A. While Reggie Jackson exploited the backcourt mismatch, Drummond unleashed his potential, overpowering the Grizzlies at their strongest point, the interior. He easily outplayed all-stars Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph, he sealed off the paint for all the wings forcing them to shoot instead, and, perhaps most importantly, he managed to commit just four fouls in 39 minutes.. C. Pistons. ANDRE DRUMMOND

TAYSHAUN PRINCE. C+. Prince had another ho-hum game. He wasn’t good, but he was adequate on both sides of the court.. SF. Pistons

SPENCER DINWIDDIE. D-. Dinwiddie looked completely incompetent in this one. Memphis would often send a second defender over while he was trying to set up the offense and he would get flustered, waste time, and not make anything happen. The entire team made just four buckets with Dinwiddie on the court.. PG. Pistons

D. Were Meeks’ 11 minutes a fluke or is he losing his place inthe rotation? There wasn’t much to evaluate in this one, but he did toss up one of the worst alley-oop attempts to Drummond that I’ve ever seen.. SG. Pistons. JODIE MEEKS

Pistons. JOEL ANTHONY. C. Anthony guarded Marc Gasol really well. It didn’t work, but he did what he was supposed to, unless putting up a single stat in 9 minutes is part of the job description. He’s just not a good enough player to be leaning on.. C

SHAWNE WILLIAMS. D. If the Pistons don’t keep Monroe, they’ll desperately need a new PF. Tolliver is a nice backup but not a nice starter. And Williams isn’t someone you want to be depending on for those backup minutes.. F. Pistons

B. I don’t think Van Gundy knows how to make a game plan for a roster with three non-shooters. I don’t know if he recognizes that inability though. On the plus side, give him just two non-shooters, and he manages to weave straw into gold.<p class=. Head Coach. Pistons. STAN VAN GUNDY
