Keith Langlois of Pistons.com:

"SVG revealed he’s a Lions, Wings season-ticketholder. Hasn’t been to a game yet, but his son is a happy beneficiary."

"Baseball is SVG’s second-favorte sport. He’ll be getting Tigers STs, too, and plans to go. Wanted to be an MLB shortstop. Bat betrayed him."

When Van Gundy was hired, there were questions about how he’d acclimate to Michigan. After all, he’s a California native who’d spent his entire NBA head-coaching career in Florida.

But Van Gundy insisted he planned to become part of the local community.

As someone who absolutely loved Larry Brown wearing a Tigers jersey during the 2004 championship, I really like the steps Van Gundy is taking.
