Draymond Green might want the same thing. Patrick definitely wants it.
But I just don’t see it happening.
Green will be a restricted free agent this summer, and the Warriors will probably match any offer he receives – including a max offer. He’s just too valuable, especially to Golden State, to let him walk. The luxury tax is not an issue, which would have been Detroit’s main leverage.
If the Pistons really wanted Green, Dumars should have traded up in the 2012 draft. Now, it’s almost definitely too late.
