NBA exec heard Pelicans will name Joe Dumars president within two weeks

Howard Beck of Bleacher Report:

"Exec w/another team told me he’d heard Dumars would be announced as Pelicans president w/in 2 weeks."

All this Joe Dumars–Pelicans talk seems to be leading somewhere.

But I wonder: Why did Beck not report this info before the latest info came out? Because he didn’t deem the exec alone credible enough? Because Beck was busy covering the playoffs? If it’s the latter, I put more stock into it. If it’s the former, considering Beck went with it now and all the other reports, it still sounds pretty convincing.

At this point, I’d be surprised if the Pelicans don’t hire Dumars.
