Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press:

"Detroit Pistons point guard Brandon Jennings said Tuesday night that his recovery from a ruptured Achilles tendon is ahead of schedule. While Jennings said he hoped to be 100% by November or December, Pistons physical therapist Arnie Kander has set an aggressive timetable for him to at least return to the floor.“My goal is to be back to up and running in August, and actually really getting after it. So that gives me August and September and October to get ready,” Jennings said."

Hopefully, Jennings is ready to go near the start of the season. His contract expires after the season, so this his last chance to prove his value before signing a new deal.

For the Pistons, Reggie Jackson – even as a pending free agent – is the heavy favorite to start. But a healthy Jennings could at least make make the competition interesting.
