I knew Salley was outspoken on his veganism, but I didn’t realize his love of plants extended this direction.

He’s right – though he doesn’t go far enough. Why test for marijuana at all – medical or recreational?

The NBA’s marijuana ban is antiquated, and the league shouldn’t punish players for an activity increasingly approved of by society. This is especially true in states where it’s legal for recreational use.

It’s a hard stance for NBA players to take right now, because certain segments of fans will vilify them. But if the retired Bad Boys big man wants to lead the charge, he’s got my support.
