Grading the Pistons offseason
By Duncan Smith
Trade for Marcus Morris, Reggie Bullock, and Danny Granger
The Pistons acquired the lesser Morris twin, the ghost of Danny Granger and the enigma that is Reggie Bullock in exchange for essentially nothing. This isn’t a particularly exciting move, but there could be upside in the form of Bullock. He hasn’t gotten much run in his two years in the NBA, but Bullock could turn out to be a decent shooter off the bench. Marcus Morris will likely start at small forward when the season begins and if things go well with Stanley Johnson’s development will likely be replaced by the rookie sometime near mid-season and then come off the bench.
Danny Granger was once a star but injuries have just been too much for him. He hasn’t played more than 20 minutes per game since his last healthy season four years ago, and since the Pistons need to cut two players before the beginning of the season, he might not make the team.
This move gets a B.
