Guard: Isiah Thomas

CAREER: 19.2 points, 9.3 assists, 3.6 rebounds 1.9 steals (13 seasons with Pistons)

There may not be a more imperfectly perfect player to be considered a Pistons’ great. Isiah Thomas has his flaws — we’ll leave that for another — but there’s not doubting that a young guard from Chicago helped revive basketball in Detroit.

Whether it was his supreme instincts as a creator or his ability to breakdown a defense and get to his spots at will, Thomas was a mix of lethal scorer and creative play maker. Folks talk so much today about Allen Iverson being the best little guard ever, but those people are forgetting Thomas.

Thomas led the Pistons to a pair of titles. Had he not injured his ankle in 1988, the Pistons may have been three-time champions. Say what you will about Thomas as a person, but it’s hard to argue there has been a better guard in Pistons’ history than Zeke.
