Forward: Dennis Rodman

CAREER: 7.3 points, 13.1, 1.8, .7 steals, .6 blocks (seven seasons)

Before Dennis Rodman went off the edge, he was the definition of tenacious.

Taken in the second round out of a small school in Oklahoma, Rodman not only impressed enough to make the team, but thrived as the Pistons bulldog off the bench. I don’t know what Rodman is known for more on the court — his insane versatility defensively or his all-time great rebounding.

Rodman went from an athletic freak to a bonafide, elite rebounder. Early in his tenure in Detroit, he made his name working harder than everybody else to clean the glass. By the time he left the Pistons, he had morphed into the league’s top rebounder — not simply a pogo-stick owning the offensive glass.

What might be most impressive (and you’ll see it in the video) is Rodman’s defensive ability. Not only could you throw him on a power forward, but you could unleash him on the greatest player of all time. Rodman was able to guard every and any player on the court.

Defending them well, at that.
