Chicago

Chicago’s top priority this offseason was resigning Jimmy Butler and they were able to do that. They haven’t been able to find a suitable backup point guard which I feel should have been on the list of priorities with Aaron Brooks disappointing in the playoffs.

Drafting Bobby Portis with the 22nd pick was a steal. He impressed during summer league averaging 14 points and nearly nine boards but will still need time to develop before being able to provide big-time minutes at the four during the regular season. The Bulls have the privilege of bringing him along slowly as he sits behind likes of Paul Gasol, Taj Gibson and Nikole Mirotic on the depth chart.

A lot of weight will be carried on the surgically repaired knees of both Joakim Noah and Derrick Rose, If they remain healthy and Fred Hoiberg can get the best out the aging core, they should be considered a 50 win team which should be good enough for third or fourth in the East.
