How do the Detroit Pistons stack up in the East?
Milwaukee
I never understood the Brandon Knight for Michael Carter-Williams trade on Milwaukee’s end–aside from the $70 million they saved this offseason of course.
Carter-Williams hasn’t shot better than 26.4% from behind the arc over a season during his short career. This issue is particularly alarming because his shot significantly regressed after his rookie season and he took a significant step back with his shot, particularly after his mid-season trade to the Bucks averaging just 14.3% from down town.
Having said that, they have a good young team on paper that should improve the more they play together.
Jabari Parker looked solid before injury put a premature end to his rookie season. The acquisition of Greg Monroe will help them score inside but I am intrigued to see how they defend the post when playing Parker alongside Monroe.
Someone like John Henson may be in for an increase in minutes from what he played last season and at only 24 years old, should be able to provide a defensive presence they may otherwise be missing.
They should be good enough for sixth or seventh in the East.
