On a team full of elite scorers, Dennis Rodman will be the defensive powerhouse on this pickup team. “The Worm” wasn’t much of a scorer himself, only putting up 8.8 points per game, but he could rebound and defend. During his seven year tenure with the Pistons he recorded 11.5 rebounds per game. Even better, after his time with the Pistons he played three years with the Bulls and pulled down 15.3 rebounds per game, and in two years with the San Antonio Spurs he grabbed an eye-popping 17.1 boards per game.

He collected not only rebounds but championships, finishing with five titles, two with the Pistons and three with the Bulls.

Honorable mention goes to Rasheed Wallace. In a way, Sheed might be the MOST pickup basketball player ever. While you always got the sense he could do a bit more, when he was in the zone he was unstoppable. As a Piston he averaged 13.4 points and 7.2 rebounds per game, and of course won a ‘ship with Detroit in 2003-04.
