There’s definitely some room for debate with these choices. You could switch the player at just about every position and put together a pickup lineup just as fearsome as this lineup here.

Power forward and shooting guard might be the most vulnerable to being rotated, and over the next year or two of Pistons basketball a few other positions might open up as well, with center Andre Drummond being the most likely current Piston to make the leap.

That said, Drummond has a lot of work to do before he can challenge for a spot on this team and leapfrog Lanier. He needs to not shoot 17 points worse than Ben Wallace from the free throw line, for starters. But the raw talent is there, the coaching is there, and perhaps the point guard, Reggie Jackson, that can get him the ball where he needs it is there as well.
