We’re now more than two and a half weeks into the 2015-16 NBA season, and things are finally starting to shake out in the MVP race. Early though it may be, we’ve already got a prohibitive favorite and a few dark horses waiting in the wings for the leader in the clubhouse to falter, which are just the elements you need for an MVP ranking.

We also have some unfortunate and concerning injuries that have shuffled the top five in more ways than one, and a certain Los Angeles Clippers basketball club has found themselves unable to win games lately, hurting their sole representative’s MVP hopes. That’s going to lead to a very different look to this week’s MVP rankings than last week had.

That said, there are new names here, but a few very familiar faces in this list as well. That includes one hometown fan favorite, and a great nemesis from what seems like a long-ago era of Detroit Pistons basketball.
