Piston Powered has released their MVP rankings for week four of the 2015-16 NBA season. Take a look and see where your MVP favorite lands this week.

The Eastern Conference has tightened up more than expected, with the top 12 of the 15 teams being within three games of first place. The Cleveland Cavaliers currently lead the way with 9-3 records, closely followed by the 8-3 Chicago Bulls, but going into the fourth week of the NBA season a bunch of teams look to be in the playoff mix.

As for the Western Conference, the Houston Rockets fired their head coach, Kevin McHale, and it remains to be seen whether that enigmatic team will end up being good or bad. The undefeated defending champion Golden State Warriors still lead the way, followed by the ageless San Antonio Spurs in second, with the upstart Dallas Mavericks close behind in third place.

After the Warriors, Spurs and Mavericks, though, there are nine teams in the west within three games of third place.

Some of these teams– like the 5-7 Minnesota Timberwolves and the 6-6 Denver Nuggets– are sure to drop out of the picture, but the cluster of teams in contention for early season top-eight spots in the respective conferences might just bring some unfamiliar faces into the top-five of our MVP rankings here at Piston Powered. If not this week, then almost certainly in future weeks if the early unpredictability continues in the NBA.

With that said, there’s been a bit of turnover and reshuffling of the deck in this week’s edition of the Piston Powered MVP Rankings, so it’s time to see where your MVP favorite appears in the list.
