Karl-Anthony Towns

Towns leads the rookie class in both rebounds and blocks but the most impressive statistic is where he finds himself against the entire league. He is 11th in rebounding ahead of the likes of Blake Griffin, Tyson Chandler, Chris Bosh and Nikola Vucevic and is seventh in blocks ahead of quality shot blockers like Brook Lopez, Al Horford and Andre Drummond.

One of his best performances as a pro was his 21 Points, 12 Rebounds and 6 Block effort in an overtime loss to the Orlando Magic. He has been very good on the defensive end but that shouldn’t surprise anyone, what I have been very impressed with is his efficiency on offense. Towns is shooting just over 90% from the free throw line on three attempts per game. He is also 51% from the field and he looks like he will continue to extend his range out to the three point line in time.

He has been the most consistent rookie after the first month having eight double-doubles in his first 15 games including two 20+ Point, 10+ rebounds games.

His ceiling was always considered to be one of the highest of the draft which is why the Minnesota Timberwolves selected him with the first pick. Like Porzingis, Towns is helping his team overachieve as he continues to improve, he may help them to a totally unexpected playoff berth with some of the Western heavyweights struggling early.
