Duncan: Nik Stauskas has some fans in the state of Michigan, and I have some personal interest in my fellow countryman (full disclosure, I am Canadian). Is Sauce Castillo ever going to be any good?

George: Sauce Castillo has a chance to be the ultimate Philly folk hero. Can he be great? No. Can he be good? Without a doubt.

It is worrisome to see his 3-pt. percentage so low early in the season (28.7%), but there is still time for Stauskas to become a formidable player as he gains more experience and confidence.

I look at him as a player with the potential to put up high numbers on hot shooting nights, but can also follow that up with a 2-12 night the next day.

A good Pistons’ comparison is Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, who has also been a work in progress (although Stauskas is not on KCP’s level on defense). KCP has shown he can put up some decent scoring numbers, but hasn’t seen that scoring come consistently so far in his young career.

Caldwell-Pope is having himself a nice season thus far in his third year, so Sixers fans can maybe see Stauskas on a similar path.
