After a slow start, Russell was moved to the bench and since moving to the second unit has shown glimpses of the potential that saw him drafted with the second overall pick.
Russell has scored 16 or more points seven times in December including including scoring 23 and 24 in back to back games earlier in the month. He looks to have found some rhythm playing against second units and is certainly playing with alot more confidence since the change.
Of course his goal is to regain a spot the starting line-up, however his current role looks to be a perfect fit and will enable him to grow slowly over time rather than be immediately given the keys to the offense and the added pressure that comes with that.
