103. 64. 118. 170. Final

Detroit’s defense was an issue throughout the night and as a result the Pistons came up short in Charlotte, 118-103.

B+. Reggie Jackson was one of few Pistons able to get it going on offense tonight. He kept them within striking distance but didn’t receive much help down the stretch. Reggie had 20 points 7/15 shooting and had 10 assists.. PG. Pistons. REGGIE JACKSON

B+. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope was able to knock down some shots in this game. Hopefully this leads to him breaking out of the slump he’s been struggling with. He finished 9 of 16 with 24 points.. SG. Pistons. KENTAVIOUS CALDWELL-POPE

Marcus Morris didn’t have a bad game offensively (13 points on 5/11 shooting) but was not aggressive enough on the defensive side of the ball. Nicolas Batum was a problem throughout the night–finishing with 17 points, 11 assists and 5 rebounds.. SF. Pistons. MARCUS MORRIS. C

B. Tobias Harris had another solid game for the Pistons tonight. He was effective on the offensive end, chipping in 20 points on 6 of 14 shooting. I would have liked it if Harris were more aggressive while the Pistons were struggling early on. Tobias’ mediocre defense continues to show however, Marvin Williams enjoyed a great night with 22 points on 7/12 shooting.. PF. Pistons. TOBIAS HARRIS

F. Andre found himself in early foul trouble and battled tough defense and the refs all night long. He didn’t manage to get off his first and only field goal attempt until late in the fourth quarter. He finished with just five points and nine boards. He also picked up a technical foul as a result of frustration with the referees, he was truly a non-factor in this one.. C. Pistons. ANDRE DRUMMOND

Pistons. ARON BAYNES. B+. Aron Baynes doing Aron Baynes things as usual. With Drummond in early foul trouble Baynes was at times able to plug a hole in the sinking boat that was the Pistons defense tonight. He played hard and made things extremely difficult for Al Jefferson all night. Baynes had eight points and six rebound in 25 minutes tonight.. C

Pistons. STEVE BLAKE. C. Blake made some shots off the bench tonight but not surprisingly struggled defensively. The second unit was able to make a couple of good runs with him running the show but he probably gave up as many points as he accounted for tonight.. PG

Pistons. REGGIE BULLOCK. D. Reggie Bullock didn’t have much of an impact in his 18 minutes of play tonight going 0-2 from the field with a pair of assists and rebounds.. SG

B-. The Pistons defense was horrid aside from the 3rd quarter tonight and you can bet Van Gundy will be on his team for that on the way to Philadelphia. Tonight was a big game against a playoff team and Charlotte came away looking like a better team. I also would have liked to see him try to get the ball in Tobias Harris’ hands a bit more, he was able to get to the rim often and could have been a bigger factor tonight.. Head Coach. Pistons. STAN VAN GUNDY
