Teams that make the playoffs win games like this. Detroit couldn’t pull it off, and continues to dig themselves a hole.

64. 118. 125. Final. 114

Neither team was that great defensively tonight, the Atlanta got just enough stops down the stretch to keep the Pistons at bay. Despite holding Atlanta to zero field goals made in the final 3:51 of the game, the Pistons found another way to lose.

Al Horford and Jeff Teague combined for 43 points and three Hawks finished with double-doubles. The Pistons’ starters played well, but the bench continues to be a weak spot.

Jackson rescued a couple of wasted possessions, but went 0-6 from behind the arc tonight. Without his misses, the Pistons were 8-19 from three. Reggie is much better when he doesn’t settle for jumpshots.. PG. Pistons. REGGIE JACKSON. C+

Caldwell-Pope rebounded well tonight after his abysmal performance against the Wizards. He went off for 24 points on 7-15 shooting and helped to keep Kyle Korver in check.. SG. Pistons. KENTAVIOUS CALDWELL-POPE. B+

B+. I was curious to see how Harris would play against Millsap and Kent Bazemore, and it turned out how I expected. Harris can be had by quicker small forwards, and even guys like Millsap. Harris did go 6-12 from the field for 19 points and 11 rebounds. Harris was solid, but could’ve done more.<div>Morris was fine offensively, but left a bit to be desired on the other end. We all know Morris isn’t a great defender anyway, but they need more out of him. He finished with a plus/minus of  -7, the lowest amongst the Pistons’ starters.</div>. PF. Pistons. TOBIAS HARRIS

B-. Drummond should be happy with 18 points and 18 rebounds, but Horford was more efficient from the field and dropped 21 points tonight. Horford was also able to facilitate the offense, something I was worried about before tonight’s game. . C. Pistons. ANDRE DRUMMOND

C-. Johnson was the only competent bench player tonight. He only took five shots, but did turn it over three times in just 20 minutes. Rather lackluster performance tonight from Johnson.<div>Baynes turned in a normal performance by his standards. He isn’t flashy, but gets the job done. Six points and five rebounds in 14 minutes in an efficient manner works for me. </div>. SF. Pistons. STANLEY JOHNSON

G. Tolliver only took two shots, but didn’t do much of anything else. Tolliver doesn’t contribute much unless he’s knocking down multiple three pointers in an efficient manner. It would be nice if the Pistons could bring somebody else off the bench at the four who could provide a bit more. . PF. Pistons. ANTHONY TOLLIVER

C-. Blake showed flashes of defense, which is more than Pistons’ fans are used to seeing, so that’s a plus. However, Dennis Schroder dropped 18 points and seven assists. Blake also racked up four fouls in 18 minutes, which is incredible.. PG. Pistons. STEVE BLAKE
