The Detroit Pistons had a season full of memories in 2015-16, exceeding expectations with their first winning record and playoff appearance in years.

The Detroit Pistons were expected to be better this year than last, but not by much, and certainly not by this much. A year after a 32-50 season (which was a franchise high in wins since 2008-09), the Pistons overachieved to record a winning record for the first time since 2007-08, which was the final of the six straight Eastern Conference finals trips the franchise made in the mid-2000’s.

Not only did the Pistons finally book a winning record on the season at 44-38, they also have clinched their first playoff appearance since the days of Allen Iverson. It’s an eight seed and the task to defeat the mighty Cleveland Cavaliers will be a tall one indeed, but what matters this year to this team is the playoffs themselves.

It puts the cap on what has been a memorable season for the Pistons and their fans, and it sets up a very bright future indeed for this young team and their wizard of a head coach and president of basketball operations Stan Van Gundy.

In honor of this season to remember, we’re going to relive ten of the top moments for the Pistons this season. Let us know if your favorite memory of this past regular season made the cut.
