Demetrius Jackson | PG | 6’1” | 194 lbs | Notre Dame

Last season: 15.8 ppg, 4.7 apg, 3.5 rpg, 1.2 spg, 2.2 turnovers, .451 fg%, .331 3pfg%
Draft range: 15-35, should be available
Why he fits in Detroit: Jackson is an explosive scoring threat that could take the reigns of Detroit’s second unit right away.

What do I mean when I say Demetrius Jackson is explosive? I mean that he’s a 6’1” point guard that Notre Dame would routinely run backdoor lob plays for. When it comes to athleticism, he checks most of the boxes – quick feet, good speed, unbelievable leaping ability, etc.

Jackson is a score-first point guard who is capable of operating the pick-and-roll productively, and he is a respectable shooter (over 38% during his three-year collegiate career). His strong frame and 6’5” wingspan should be able to boost his defensive prospects as well.

Given his skill set and the fact that he will most likely be on the board when the Pistons are the clock, I think Jackson is an obvious candidate to be selected. It would make total sense, which is probably why you have seen a mock draft or two where Jackson is projected to be picked by Detroit.
