On the eve of Summer League tip off I’m here to take a look at a few points of emphasis for the Detroit Pistons throughout the week-long tournament.

Heading into the competition the Detroit Pistons are bringing with them 2015 first round pick, Stanley Johnson and D-League superstar, Lorenzo Brown. Also joining these two Pistons carry over players will be the more recent draftees, 18th pick Henry Ellenson and 49th pick Michael Gbinije.

Unfortunately for the Pistons’ 2015 second round pick, Darrun Hilliard, it was discovered earlier in the week that he would miss the entire Summer League competition due to a stress fracture in his back.

It’s a shame too–I thought he was going to have a great tournament and perhaps lead this young squad in scoring. But without Hilliard these four will still make for an interesting playing group both on the court and looking ahead to the upcoming NBA season.

First up, we’ll take a look at Stanley Johnson. Stanley is the more notable player in the squad. The eighth pick in the 2015 draft will have the most eyes on him here. Not only from his own coaching staff but also players and staff around the league.
