In just over two years, Stan Van Gundy has managed to reshape the Detroit Pistons’ roster to his style of play and establish a winning culture for the organization.

Stan Van Gundy was named head coach and president of basketball operations for the Detroit Pistons on May 14th, 2014.  In just over two years since then, he has managed to reshape the Pistons’ roster to his preferred style of play and establish a culture of winning and accountability for the organization.  Both of these elements are key for NBA franchises in order to build teams that can compete for a championship.

Stan Van Gundy has made a variety of savvy transactions whether it be through free agency, trades, or the draft. There was central theme among all of Van Gundy’s transactions and as we recall some of this events, you may notice the trend.
