In today’s posts on Piston Powered, we discuss Jerry Stackhouse‘s new job as head coach of the Toronto Raptors’ NBA D-League affiliate, the Raptors 905, whether Henry Ellenson will see much action in his rookie season, and we ask whether the Detroit Pistons go into 2016-17 as an underrated team.
With no further ado, let’s get started.
Detroit Pistons not to play Henry Ellenson much during his rookie year?
"Van Gundy has always been a coach that is going to play the best players right now. Right now Leuer is a better player than Ellenson, though that may not be the case in two years. If Ellenson does the most with the minutes he’s given, I could see him splitting time with Leuer, but it’s evident that going into the season that Ellenson is at the bottom of the depth chart."
Former Detroit Piston Jerry Stackhouse to coach Toronto Raptors’ D-League team
by Duncan Smith
"No question Stackhouse has been well-prepared for this job thanks to working under Casey and with one of the best front offices in the NBA with Toronto and should excel in his new position."
Are the Detroit Pistons underrated?
"Many would disagree that fourth is an underestimation, and even argue that fourth is too giving. That the Pistons will finish sixth or higher due to new teams like the Chicago Bulls, Indiana Pacers, and New York Knicks emerging as star-studded competitors. Still, the Detroit Pistons have a few things going for them."
