As we take a look at our review of yesterday’s news and events on Piston Powered, our friends at Raptors Rapture weigh in on the Detroit Pistons and how they expect the Pistons will fare in the Central Division this coming season, and Braden Shackelford takes a look at how things have changed in practice for Andre Drummond now that he has Boban Marjanovic to deal with.

With no further ado, let’s get started.

Raptors Rapture ranks the Detroit Pistons second-best in the Central Division

By Brandon Marlow

"The team over at Raptors Rapture are doing their Central Division power rankings, placing the Detroit Pistons ahead of the Indiana Pacers, Chicago Bulls and Milwaukee Bucks.Unsurprisingly, the reigning NBA Champion Cleveland Cavaliers are in the top spot. This ranking comes in stark contrast to Basketball Insider’s recent rankings, which placed the Pistons fourth in the Central, ahead of only the Bucks."

Boban Marjanovic is making Andre Drummond a better player

By Braden Shackelford

"Andre Drummond used to be a one trick pony. He’d set a screen, roll, catch the ball, and dunk.Shortly thereafter, he was asked by Stan Van Gundy to develop a go-to offensive move to be more of a force offensively.Drummond responded by adding a sweet baby hook shot with his back-to-the-basket game. Now Drummond needs to take another leap offensively after signing a max contract this summer to help his team get back to the conference finals, and it appears that free agent acquisitionBoban Marjanovic is going to be pushing Drummond in the right direction."
