Detroit Pistons’ point guard Reggie Jackson is a game time decision tonight against the Boston Celtics with an apparent neck injury.
Reggie Jackson hasn’t been himself this season. Chalk that up to recovering from a knee procedure this offseason.
But things are getting better right?
Well, it appears Jackson is dealing with another injury, though less this one seems to be short-term.

If Jackson can’t go tonight, Ish smith will get the start. That’s not necessarily a bad thing as Duncan Smith pointed out on twitter. In fact, if Reggie isn’t able to go tonight, the Pistons might be better off.
Since January 15th, when Ish is on the floor, the Pistons are outscoring opponents 116.7 to 103.6 per 100 possessions. +13.1 net rating.

Usage over this span with Ish on the floor:
— Duncan Smith (@DuncanSmithNBA) February 26, 2017
Drummond 25.5
KCP 25.3
Morris 24.3
Harris 23.8
Smith 20
Baynes/Leuer/Johnson ~16
Hopefully Jackson’s injury is minor. The Pistons would love to see Jackson get back to his last season form.
Next: Detroit Pistons point guard conundrum
That said, with Smith potentially starting tonight, the Pistons’ would likely get to see what the team looks like with Kentavious Caldwell-Pope more involved. When his usage is up, so too are the Pistons chances of winning.
