The Knicks, bolstering a 26-39 record, have dealt with a few issues as of late surrounding Carmelo Anthony, Derrick Rose, and Knickerbocker ownership. As for Detroit, things could not be trending in a better direction.
Since the All-Star break, the Pistons have looked like a renewed team: playing with energy, fourth quarter determination, and holding players accountable. They’re currently seeded seventh in the East and only a game back of six.
Additionally, Reggie Jackson has started to play like scraper Reggie Jackson: the Jackson that lead Detroit to their first play off appearance last year since 2009.
In two of the past three games, Jackson has scored 20+ points, appeared comfortable driving to the lane, pushed the ball, made smart choices, and has taken over in the fourth with 10+ points alone.
Though, it’s not only Reggie Jackson who appears to have improved.
Marcus Morris has grown as a larger vocal leader, as revealed from his tirade during Thursday night when down in the first, while Stanley Johnson has surged from the bench.
Their improving play along with Andre Drummond‘s, now, founded energy and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope‘s/Tobias Harris‘s season continuance of consistent play has carried Detroit to a stretch of good basketball.

Now, with Saturday night, the Detroit Pistons hope to continue their good stretch of basketball while closing the gap for sixth in the East. With the same determination, energy, and momentum from Thursday night, there’s no reason Detroit shouldn’t come away with a victory over the New York Knicks.
