Will the Detroit Pistons newfound energy and lineup tinkering fuel their continued success as they battle the Cleveland Cavaliers for the second time in 5 days?

Hoping to build on a win just barely in the rear view mirror, the Detroit Pistons take on the Cleveland Cavaliers for the second time in less than a week tonight.

The keys to the Detroit Pistons win on March 9th started with Reggie Jackson. Jackson posted 21 points and 5 assists but did most of his damage in the 4th quarter. Jackson burned the Cavs for 12 points in the quarter as the Cavs could not find a way to stop the Andre Drummond-Reggie Jackson pick and roll.

The Cavaliers come into the contest looking to bounce back from their 117-112 loss on Sunday to the Houston Rockets. They are off to a slow start in the month of March, posting a 2-5 record thus far.

Detroit will be looking to run their winning streak to 3 games as their battle for playoff positioning continues. They are currently in the 7th seed in the Eastern Conference. A win could move them into a tie for 6th place with the Indiana Pacers.

Although no official word has been released, Tobias Harris was held out of practice on Monday but is expected to play in tonight’s game. If Harris does indeed miss the game, the Pistons will be without arguably their most reliable scorer, who is averaging 21.5 points since returning to the starting lineup.

It will be interesting to see how Cleveland responds. They will certainly be looking to use their home court advantage in avenging their loss last week. Kyle Korver has been ruled out according to Keith Langlois of NBA.com. The Cavs are 26-7 at home this season and it will not be an easy feat for the Pistons to take them down twice in a week.
