The Detroit Pistons came up very short in their attempt to push their win streak to three games Tuesday night against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Detroit Pistons came into Tuesday night’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers riding a two-game winning streak and looking to continue it. One of those wins came against the Cavaliers themselves 5 days prior. History would not repeat itself tonight as the Pistons fell to the Cavaliers,128-96 , at Quicken Loans Arena.

The Cavaliers came out blazing hot shooting the ball. They started the game by hitting their first ten 3-point field goals and posting 69% on field goals overall through the first half. It seemed from the start that they were really looking to take the frustrations of a slow start to March out on Detroit.

Kyrie Irving led the way for the Cavaliers with 26 points. Iman Shumpert was particularly a thorn in the Piston’s side as he finished with 18 points while seeming to make a basket at any point it seemed the Pistons were gearing up to make a run.

Cleveland ended the night shooting 59% from the floor. They simply could not miss even the most contested of their jump shots throughout the entire game.

Bright spots were very few and far between for the Pistons. Tobias Harris led the team with 17 points on 6-11 shooting while Andre Drummond contributed 14 rebounds. The Piston’s bench got extended run in the 4th quarter while the starters rested up for their game tomorrow night. Stanley Johnson logged 23 minutes in what was a blowout after the first quarter.

The loss drops Detroit to under .500 . At 33-34, Detroit still sits tight in the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference.

Overall, it was a night to forget for the Pistons. They surely will look to bounce back when they take on the Utah Jazz tomorrow night at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
