Coming off of a nail-biter 90-89 win against the Brooklyn Nets at The Palace, the Detroit Pistons look to even the season series against the playoff-bound Milwaukee Bucks. The Bucks, winners of seven of their last ten games, are returning home after a 103-100 win in Boston.

After an impressive late-game finish at home, the Detroit Pistons are still poised to end up in the lottery. Although they aren’t mathematically eliminated, they are definitely emotionally eliminated.

More from PistonPowered

Before last night’s win, they were on a five-game losing streak, which ultimately led to the end of Reggie Jackson‘s season, and possible tenure in Detroit. It was only a couple weeks ago where this same Pistons squad captured the seven seed and had their sights set on the sixth seed in the East. This meteoric fall has led many fans, analysts, and everyone in between to question the future of this current roster.

So now that same, futile squad travels to Milwaukee to take on the surging Bucks, a team they were once battling with for playoff position. Milwaukee is coming off of an impressive win in Boston and a day’s rest. When given a day’s rest this season, Milwaukee is 27-17. Detroit is on the second game of a back-to-back (SEGABABA), where they are posting a horrific 3-12 record on the year.

On the surface, this seems like a cake-walk win for the Bucks. However, maybe this Pistons team can take advantage of a Bucks team that is fighting with the Atlanta Hawks for the fifth seed and pull off the upset victory with nothing left to play for.

One interesting tidbit is that since losing Jabari Parker for the season, the Milwaukee Bucks are 17-7.

Expect dark-horse Rookie of the Year candidate Malcolm Brogdon, sharpshooter and former Piston Khris Middleton, and Greek Freak Giannis Antetokounmpo to have great games in a Milwaukee win.
