Reggie Jackson

Reggie Jackson was the man last year.

Jackson lead Detroit to the playoffs, sparked enthusiasm for Detroit’s future, and was a fourth-quarter tank. Everything looked bright for Detroit’s 2016-2017 season with Jackson at the helm until his knee injury.

And due to the injury, Detroit hasn’t been the same Detroit.

Detroit started the season decent with Ish Smith leading the team, though slumped when Jackson returned. But in retrospect, Detroit should have seen it coming,

Due to Jackson’s injury, upon his return he was not only behind physically, he was behind in polishing his game as well.

Then, with the knee appearing to still be injured, Jackson fell apart: leading to lackluster, frustrating play.

Today, many fans are calling for a Reggie Jackson trade this summer. So quickly it appears they’ve forgotten what the man did a season before.

Fans know Jackson IS capable of leading this Detroit squad as he had in 2015-2016, but he needs an offseason to heal, rest, and catch up.

Additionally, the return on Jackson now drastically underweighs the potential and productivity he is capable of producing.

So, again with the up-coming off-season, Reggie Jackson needs to rest, heal, improve, and polish his game for Detroit basketball to return to it’s 2015-2016 state.
