Settings

The first order of business before beginning any sort of GM work was to ensure the settings are as close to reality as possible. Per Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical, the 2017-18 salary cap will be approximately $101 million. However in NBA 2k17, the game does not increase in increments of $1 million so I had to settle for a salary cap of $104 million.

Also per Wojnarowski, the luxury tax line is $121 million so teams can exceed that number, but would need to pay a tax on every dollar over that line. In 2k, this isn’t possible (probably for simplicity) so I kept everything else on its default setting.
