The Detroit Pistons have been mocked both front court and back court players by Chad Ford. Mock draft 6.0 features some back court help for the Pistons, but the options available make for an interesting scenario.

The Detroit Pistons get shooting help in Chad Ford’s latest mock draft, in the form of Luke Kennard, a pick I can live with, but who Ford passed up, might be even more interesting.

First, let’s take a look at the pick and analysis.

Ford via ESPN:

"The Pistons have been flirting with trading this pick for a more established player, but if they keep it, look for them to try to nab a shooter.Kennard wowed NBA scouts and GMs at his pro day, putting on an epic 3-point display and showing more athleticism than scouts thought he had a Duke (the Lakers recorded him with a 38.5-inch max vertical at his workout).Kennard is getting interest as high as No. 8 to the Knicks. He’s a hot name to watch right now."

I am growing on Kennard. If he was the pick, I would be ok with it. I think he can be a solid starting guard in the NBA, potentially. At worst, I think he can be a really good rotation player.

What is interesting, however, is Ford has the Pistons taking Kennard over a player I would not pass on–Zach Collins, who falls all the way down to 14 to Miami.

What is also interesting to note is that he has Donovan Mitchell going 11th to the Charlotte Hornets.

We are still weeks away from the NBA draft, but if the board were to shake out this way, my pick would be Collins. Who would your pick be?
