Detroit Pistons fans, if the draft was today, who would your pick be at #12?

The Detroit Pistons won’t be on the clock for another 11 days, but now is a good time to take the fan base’s temperature and see how that perception changes as we get closer to draft day.

So, if the draft were today, and assuming everything stays the same–i.e Pistons are picking at 12–who would you draft?

First, let’s assuming these players are off the board:

  1. Markelle Fultz
  2. Lonzo Ball
  3. Josh Jackson
  4. De’Aaron Fox
  5. Jayson Tatum
  6. Jonathon Isaac
  7. Lauri Markkanen
  8. Malik Monk
  9. Dennis Smith
  10. Frank Ntilikina

Notice I stopped at 10? That’s because it would be unfair to drop anyone else in that list at this point in time as any one of Zach Collins, Donovan Mitchell, and Luke Kennard have slipped into that spot in mock drafts.

Now that that’s out of the way, let me give you my take.

Assuming somehow one of Collins, Mitchell, and Kennard are available for the Pistons, along with the remaining prospects, my pick today would be Collins.

I am shockingly excited about all three players, having grown on Kennard over the last two weeks, and would be thrilled to have any one of them.

But Collins just offers too much versatility for me to pass up here. This is the least certain I have been about a draft pick this late in the process, in a long time, not because Collins is risky to me, but because I think bypassing any one of these three could come back and bite you in revisionist history.

That’s my take, what’s yours?
