Klay Thompson College Summary, age 21 via DraftExpress.com:

  • Strengths: Size, Shooting Stroke, Getting to the basket, Underrated finisher, Can finish with either hand, Court vision, Solid defender, Length and size.
  • Weaknesses: Lack of explosiveness and speed, Doesn’t play above the rim, Turnover prone.

Thompson was a sniper coming out of Washington State. He was also an underrated defender due to his offensive game overshadowing his defensive talent. His lack of elite athleticism didn’t help curb the notion either.

He was also extremely NBA-ready by today’s standards having stayed three years in college, and as evident by his impressive rookie numbers.
