Detroit Pistons Summer Leaguer Eric Moreland has gotten some notice for his performance at the Orlando Summer League, with Steve Kyler mentioning that he was being considered by NBA teams. Now Kyler is reporting that the Pistons have made a multi-year offer to Moreland.

The Detroit Pistons are pleased with Eric Moreland and his performance in Summer League thus far. They are so pleased with Moreland, in fact, that they have reportedly offered him a multi-year deal.

Without knowing the details of the deal, this makes a lot of sense.

The Pistons have a need for a third center, but have little cap space. Presumably, this deal would be for the minimum, and Moreland has looked worthy of a roster spot.

What’s important to note here is that Moreland has not signed the deal. I would assume Moreland will likely wait this out for a better offer to present itself, before signing anywhere.

We will have to wait and see whether Moreland signs with the Pistons, making for an exciting story as we close out summer league play.
