My initial reaction–what?! I did not see this coming.
My other initial reaction is that this spells the end for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and his time in Detroit, that is, unless there are more moves coming and the Pistons desire to play a lineup of Avery Bradley and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope at times at the two and three, or potentially at the one and two at times.
Neither theory makes a ton of sense, though that would make for an interesting lineup defensively.
My gut reaction, focusing on just the players involved is that this was an A+ deal for Detroit. Now, putting this move into context and realizing that this deal is likely Detroit choosing Bradley over Caldwell-Pope, while losing Morris in the process makes me feel much worse about the trade.
Next: Let's give Luke Kennard a chance
Overall, I’ll give this move a A. It feels like there are more moves to come.
