Joining Jake Chapman on the Wired Pistons podcast
By Duncan Smith
On Tuesday I had the pleasure of joining Jake Chapman of Pistons.com to talk about the Detroit Pistons offseason, roster expectations and more.
In a day full of podcasting, I had the pleasure of joining Jake Chapman of Pistons.com on the Wired: Pistons podcast to talk about the Detroit Pistons’ offseason, what to expect from the roster and the Cleveland Cavaliers’ disaster.
We talked extensively about what the Pistons should do about Tobias Harris and the entire front court rotation, how Avery Bradley will make a difference for the Pistons, and we put a particular emphasis on what Langston Galloway can bring to this team next season.

While he’s no star, the Pistons may have had a better season a year ago if they had Galloway to plug in at the two instead of Darrun Hilliard and an out-of-position Stanley Johnson.
We agreed that whatever the Pistons do rotationally in the front court, any outcome is acceptable as long as Harris gets as many minutes as possible and his time on the floor is not dictated by, say, Jon Leuer‘s matchup and performance. Harris was the best Piston last year by a significant margin, and burying him on the bench is not acceptable going forward.
We also let loose on the dreadful summer the Cleveland Cavaliers have had, and we laid the blame squarely at the feet of Dan Gilbert. The Cavs’ owner is dealing with a mess completely of his own making, and Jake and I explored the topic extensively.
Jake and I tend to have long conversations when we chat, and this was no exception. We spoke for over 40 minutes, and as usual we could have gone much longer.
